4 year old Oakley Carlson was last seen in Oakville, Washington in February 2021. She was not reported missing until December 2021.
Background
Oakley lived with a foster mom from infancy until 2019, when she was reunited with her biological parents at age 3.
Disappearance
The last confirmed sighting of Oakley Carlson was in Oakville, Washington in February 2021.
In November 2021, Oakley’s family was displaced from their home after a fire. No one recall’s seeing Oakley during that time, and her parents had an excuse each time they were asked about her.
Oakley was not reported missing until December 6, 2021, after her school principal requested a welfare check on her. This came after the principal overheard Oakley’s sister stating “Oakley is no more.”
When questioned, Oakley’s 6 year old sister told authorities that her mother had told her not to talk about Oakley, and that Oakley had “gone out into the woods and been eaten by wolves.”
Oakley’s parents said they last saw their daughter in November 2021, and were unable to account for where she might be. They were taken into custody on suspicion of manslaughter, though those charges were later dropped.
Investigation
Multiple searches for Oakley have been conducted, but no further clues as to her whereabouts have been found.
Between 2013-2021, there were 11 calls regarding Oakley’s family to the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). The calls alleged “domestic violence, physical abuse, parental drug use and medical neglect.”
Of those 11 calls, DCYF says it investigated eight of them.
In July 2025, Oakley was declared legally dead in Pacific County Superior Court.
Oakley’s biological parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, remain persons of interest in her disappearance. They have served time for unrelated charges, including child endangerment and identify theft, but have not been charged in Oakley’s disappearance.
Appearance
White female with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, Oakley was 3’0 tall and weighed 50 pounds.
