Background
Kayla has a history of mental health issues, and has struggled with drug addiction.
Disappearance
At approximately 11:00 pm on December 17, 2024, Kayla Sobczak was last seen in the area of 60th Street and 12th Avenue in Kenosha, Washington.
She was seen leaving the 6000 block of 12th Avenue, then reportedly getting picked up by an unknown man in a charcoal grey sedan.
Kayla hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Her destination on the night she went missing is unknown.
Investigation
Kayla is known to frequent the areas of Racine, Wisconsin and Waukegan, Illinois. Some reports indicate she may be in the Chicago area.
Body of Kayla Sobczak Found in Lake Michigan
On March 9, 2025, the body of Kayla Sobczak was found in a Lake Michigan breakwall in Eichelman Park. Positive identification was made by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office through dental records.
Her cause of death remains under investigation.
Appearance
Mixed race female with curly/kinky black hair and brown eyes. Kayla stands 5’3 tall and weighs 140-175 pounds. She wears eyeglasses.
Clothing & Accessories:
Kayla was last seen wearing a black windbreaker/sweatshirt and dark colored pants.
